More books.

I’ve spent part of the weekend up in my loft, searching through piles of books for a new supply of stories for Lily.

I love books, all genres of books fiction, poetry, craft, hobbies, cookery, lifestyle, biography, fairy tales, children’s books, nursery rhymes, educational, Christmas, coffee table books etc.

I’ve always had many books and was always encouraged to read and I in turn have always encouraged my children to read so that they too are book addicts.

The house is now groaning under the strain of them, many are now in the loft as there isn’t any room in the house but I do find it impossible to dispose of any. I used to read 2 or 3 a week but because Lily took a disliking for sleep my ability to stay awake after reading one page of a book diminished and the only one that I have finished in the last 2 years is Gordan Ramsey ‘Humble Pie’. Lily is now, at long last sleeping through the night so at least I can now attempt to read through all the fiction books that I have bought within that period. At the moment I’m reading Russell Brand ‘My Booky Wook’, Lynne Truss ‘Eats Shoots and Leaves’ and Cecilia Ahearn ‘If you Could See Me Now.'

Some of my favourites when I was young.

At least your loft full of books provides interestin insulation!

I've just finished Richard Hammond's book - by him and his wife, Mindy, following his jetcar accident. Very gripping - even though we know he comes through it all in the end. Borrowed it from my sister in law ... who in turn borrowed 3 of ours!

I have also been a bookworm all my life so have quite an accumulation including one that I received as a prize as Sunday school aged 2!

That Lyne Truss book is brilliant! I must admit there are very few books that I would read over and over so I tend to give them to charity or friends and family, but even we have too many!

I love reading too - I noticed the 'read it yourself' book that you bought down from the loft - gosh, I haven't seen one of those for over 25 years! - I have quite a few books that you have on your bookshelf and I read 'If you could see me now' last year. If you like that kind of book, 'Anyone out there?' is brilliant (sorry I can't remember the author - but its a good read). Did you read the Twins at St Clare's books when you were younger? - they were my favourites - Natalie x

I haven't read Richard Hammond yet but will do eventually!
I remember receiving books from Sunday school.
'Anyone Out There' is Marian Keyes - I've got it to read soon. I haven't read 'The Twins at St Clares'
I definately have too little space lol. I'm sure Lily will love Enid Blyton.
I love the pictures in vintage childrens books too.
