Christmas sewing fest

I know I said I'd be back on Monday and it's now Wednesday but this pottytraining malarky is no fun! I seem to be spending my life on my hands and knees cleaning my pale cream carpet, washing numerous pants and trousers and lighting yankee candles. This morning I have made a green card Christmas tree and am armed with Christmas stickers, which we will put on the tree everytime the wee goes in the pot!!

So now onto nicer things i.e CHRISTMAS, it's not long now so I have had a bit of a crafting frenzy here. It all started with 'Tilda's Crafting Christmas Gifts' and Mrs Snowman the teacosy, which then led onto a couple of little snowmen and a penguin. The penguin has a secret! I couldn't find any black fabric in my haste to make him and being rather impatient I thought I'd improvise and borrowed a black t-shirt from Mr B's drawer! He is still none the wiser lol.

As I got slightly carried away on the Christmas fabric buying front I made some Christmas bunting some with small triangles some with longer ones, then a lap quilt backed with fleece.

And some cinnamom scented sachets.

Some gingham hearts.

Then a strange thing happened - a slight addiction to felt, it's a bit like Pringles once you start you just can't stop!

Birds and trees.

Gingerbread men, snowmen and penguins.

Cinnamon scented puddings.

Matryoshkas and Baboushka

brooches

Mittens -mmmm slightly obssesive behaviour methinks!

I have also done some crocheting, a flowery scarf from 'Stitch and Bitch crochet' and a flower brooch in Christmassy colours.

I still have some w.i.p. and have just about finished my decoration for Indigo Blue's Christmas decoration swap but that's a secret!

This is a reindeer wallhanging from the Tilda book 'Crafting Christmas Gifts' and it will be huge.

Vintage stockings.

Advent.

Shabby chic cafe swaps - This is what I sent to ebaby for the October 'pink' swap, an Amigurumi cupcake pincushion, a felt needlecase, a crochet flower brooch and a pink candle.

And I received my November 'Sparkly' swap from Rose yesterday, a sparkly bag with pockets around the outside, a bookmark, a crochet butterfly and a bundle of charm squares, thankyou Rose it's lovely.

I posted my sparkly swap off today so will put pictures up when Little Gem has received it. I may even have pictures of my newly decorated lounge, well if it's finished! We've put up the new 'old' mantelpiece and plastered the wall, well I say 'we' but I didn't actually do it! I will be papering the wall though, in a paper that is white with huge roses on it! We have to paint the fireplace as well because at the moment it's mahogany so a bit dark for the wallpaper. I'm worn out just writing about it so it might not be finished for a while yet!

Quick award post

Just a very quick post to say that I've been given two awards.
First 'the award that goes like this' from Andrea at Indigo blue
Thankyou Andrea, I will now copy you and pass this one on to all of my 13 followers.

The second one is from Tracey at Tcalamity, thankyou Tracey, a lovely picture to put on my sidebar.

The Marie Antoinette Award- a real person, a real award!

Here are the Rules for the Award:
1. Please put the logo on your blog
2. Place a link to the person from whom you received the award
3. Nominate at least 7 or more blogs
4. Put the links of those blogs on your blog
5. Leave a message on their blogs to tell them.

I am totally useless and probably very lazy at passing on awards as I always forget so I'm going to do this right now before I put Lily to bed!

1 - Clare at Summerfete

2- Jane at Petticoat lane.

3- Andrea at Indigo blue

4- Claire at Dollydollop

5- Sal at Sals Snippets

7- Angel at Shabby Angel

10- Sharie at View to the hill.

So there you go all real people and amazingly I've managed to link to them!
Now I must go and put Lily to bed, which also involves me sitting on the floor for an hour crocheting!
I will be back on Monday with some things that I've been making.

Enjoy what's left of the weekend.

Some new books.

Thought I'd share a few books that I've bought in the last couple of weeks, you'll have to excuse the photo quality it's so dark and dreary here. Of course I had to buy Make! I haven't made anything from it yet but I do like these.......

A Sweet little cottage cushion it's a shame there wasn't a pattern for the sewing box as I love it but can't justify spending all that money on it!

Gorgeous embroidered purse.

A small tweed tote bag.

And then after seeing it on many blogs I bought a copy of Sew Fabulous fabric.

Again this has some lovely ideas such as the flowers on the front and I will definately make this height chart for Lily's room.

Now most importantly my favourite subject CHRISTMAS!
I love and already have 'Goosebery Patch Christmas' so this year I treated myself to 'Gooseberry Patch Christmas all through the home', all 512 wonderfully illustrated pages. This has over 600 things to make in and roughly half of the book is recipes, lovely!

Anthea's must have!

The heart flowers are really cute with a button centre.

Sarah Raven's book is gorgeous full of flowers, decorations and recipes.

Look at this chinese lantern garland the colours are wonderful.

I've been waiting for this for a while who can resist a book with Milly Molly Mandy on the front!

I've read the intro I just need five minutes peace now to devour it.

I bought this as i thought it could have some nice recipes but I was a little dissapointed, being Cornish and seeing a recipe for an 'authentic' Cornish pasty, with carrots in it! But hey, who am I to say what people can put in their pasties!

And finally a few bargain 30p cookery books from the book fayre.

Hopefully I'll have some time to flick through these at the weekend and make lists of what I'm going to make as I've been painting chairs and my dresser this week so I'm worn out now lol!
Have a great weekend.
