Thrifting for Summer!

I'm still waiting for Summer to arrive, today started quite sunny and bright here in Cornwall but by lunchtime it had clouded over and I should imagine it will rain any minute! With the lack of Summer in mind I went to the charity shops on Saturday with the hope of bringing some flowery things home to brighten it up indoors.

Rose pyrex gravy boat and saucer£1.50 , small pot £1 , blue lidded pot£1 , Booths bowl £1, Octagonal lidded pot and matching bowl £1.75 , Limoges lidded rose decal pot £1
and ...........

another floral picture 50p, a gorgeous little clock £ , 2 pink tinted glass candlesticks £2.00, small glass candlestick 75p and a cut glass pot £1.45.

and then ....

in QS Ibought a couple of rose patterned boxes for £2 and £3. Then when I got home my bargain Laura Ashley throw had been delivered £3.50!

On Sunday we had a quick look around a very quiet car boot and came away with this lot ..

Red pan £1, Birds custard tin 50p, cake stand £1, 2 boots £1.
and .......

a mirror and a basket for £2 each.

and finally ...

a large blue bowl £1, rose spoon £1 and a plastic lidded server 50p couldn't resist this one as I remember my mum having one exactly the same when we were little.

A Few Finds..

I managed to pick up a few things at the car boot on Sunday.

DD3 Jodie found the green enamel coffee pot, which I was delighted with and it was only a pound. (I'm training her well! but it costs me as she then says 'can I have this - I did find the enamel pot for you!')

I also got a pair of curtains for a pound, which I will cut up, probably to make cushions for the caravan as I'm decorating the caravan in yellow, cream & florals of course.

The little rose rimmed jug was 20p to add to my jug collection.

Then I saw the rose fabric over a car, I looked at it and found that it was actually a huge fully lined door curtain from a furnishings shop in Penzance it looks very good quality so I got a bargain -£4. I originally wanted it for the fabric but I can't bring myself to cut it up so will hang it at the front door instead and take down the boring brown one that is there at the moment.

I also got a bubble machine for Lily for 50p this is definately a godsend as I no longer have to stand in the garden blowing bubbles, the trouble is she stands so close that they all land in her hair which feels lovely after!!

Thrifting again!

I've had a busy few days buying up the charity shops and car boot. I've bought a lovely cupboard to paint probably in Laura Ashley paper white. A glass cake stand as you can never have enough cake stands thats what I tell my OH anyway and I was really pleased to find not one but two glass jelly moulds, the large one was only £1 and the smaller one was 75p, I have been looking for these at the right price for ages. I also bought a Laura Ashley top and a huge new oxford pillowcase to use the fabric, two more flower pictures and some other bits and bobs. Oh and a caravan but more on that later! I'm going to start making the curtains for it now as it's a bit brown for my liking.

Inspirational flowers

After being inspired by Posy's flower picture wall from http://posy.typepad.com/.
I went on a picture hunt at a car boot sale and then some charity shops on Saturday and bought these; the vase of roses was 50p from a car boot, aned from a charity shop I bought two pictures of anemones, which were 50p & £2 but I'll change the frames and lastly a Spring interlude was £3, I really like the frame on this.
